THE PROJECT BRIEF — CHARTED

The Water They're Sailing

A launch-stage Charleston vacation-rental brand has to solve two discovery problems at once: help guests choose the right neighborhood, then help them choose the right stay. The experience must organize historic downtown, barrier-island, and suburban demand without reducing each destination to a duplicated city-page template.

Stay Holy City also needed a direct-booking story strong enough to compete with marketplace habits. The public website therefore has to communicate local stewardship, clarify why booking direct matters, and give first-time visitors the neighborhood context they would normally seek across several travel sites.

How the Search Foundation Was Built

BEARING 01

Location-Led Search Architecture

Charleston-area pages organize Downtown, Mount Pleasant, the islands, and surrounding communities as distinct search and trip-planning destinations rather than interchangeable location labels.

BEARING 02

Guest-Intent Collections

Family, couples, large-group, and pet-friendly collections create useful paths from broad travel intent to the most relevant stays.

BEARING 03

Charleston Guide Ecosystem

Neighborhood, dining, and activity content supports organic discovery while giving guests locally specific context before they reserve.

BEARING 04

Direct-Booking Journey

Clear reserve and guest-list actions connect editorial discovery to first-party relationships without depending on a third-party marketplace funnel.

This profile documents the public information architecture and conversion experience visible on Stay Holy City's official website. It does not claim unpublished traffic, booking, ranking, or revenue outcomes.
